Deputy Minister Le Khanh Hai has met with H.E. Mr. Antonio Eduador Becalli Garrido, President of National Institute of Sport, Physical Education and Recreation of Cuba (INDER)

In the afternoon of April 6, 2018, at the Headquarter of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Deputy Minister Le Khanh Hai has have a meeting with H.E. H.E. Mr. Antonio Eduador Becalli Garrido, President of  National Institute of Sport, Physical Education and Recreation of Cuba (INDER) about sport cooperation between the 2 countries. 

Attending the meeting were Mr. Vuong Bich Thang, General Director of Viet Nam National Administration of Sports; Mr. Tran Duc Phan, Deputy General Director of Viet Nam National Administration of Sports; Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh, Director General of International Cooperation Department, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; H.E. Ms. Lianys Torres Rivera and staffs from the Embassy of Cuba and relevant agencies of Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

At the meeting, the 2 sides have reaffirmed the friendship and consolidated relationship between Viet Nam and Cuba. Deputy Minister Le Khanh Hai highly appreciates the cooperation in exchanging specialists in the sector of high achievement sports, training athletes, and physical education in schools, especially with the signing sports cooperation agreement in 2015.

H.E. Antonio Eduador Becalli Garrido has expressed his gratitude to Deputy Minister Le Khanh Hai for the warmly welcome and affirms that Cuba has paid great attention to sports development following the philosophy of President Fidel Castro. Despite many difficulties, Cuba is a strong sports nation. Cuba has applied science researches and sport medicine from school sports to elite sports.

Deputy Minister Le Khanh Hai also assigned Viet Nam National Administration of Sports to develop plans to invite Cuba’s experts in boxing, volley ball, athletics, sport medicine to Viet Nam for training our athletes.

In the meeting, H. E. Antonio Eduador Becalli Garrido has also sent the invitation of Sport Science Conference, holding in 11/2018 in Cuba to Viet Nam.

Cuba also has expressed their wish to bring athletes to Viet Nam for training in order to adapt weather and time-belt conditions before participating in Olympic 2020 in Japan.

In the morning of April 7, 2018, President of National Institute of Sport, Physical Education and Recreation of Cuba and his delegation has visited Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and Complex.

In the afternoon of April 7, 2018, the delegation of National Institute of Sport, Physical Education and Recreation of Cuba has visited and investigated the infrastructure conditions of National Sports Training Center, Hanoi Sports Training and Competition Center, and Water Sports Stadium. On this occasion, Mr. Vuong Bich Thang, Director General of Viet Nam National Administration of Sports sends invitation to Cuba to participate in VTV International Women’s Volleyball Cup in August, 2018.
