Workshop of the famous Mexican sculptress in Ha Noi

In the afternoon of April 9, 2018, the workshop of famous Mexican sculptress Paloma Torres was held at the University of Fine Arts of Viet Nam. Attending the workshop were H.E Sara Valdes Bolano, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Mexican Embassy to Viet Nam, Mr. Tran Nhat Hoang, Deputy Director General, International Cooperation Department, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Sculptor Le Lang Luong, author of the statue "Origin" represented for Viet Nam and Artist Tran Trong Tri, author of the statue "Cloud boat" represented for the United States on display at the APEC Sculpture Garden together with the Head, Deputy Head, lecturers and students of Viet Nam University of Fine Arts.

Paloma Torres, who has won many national and international awards for artistic creativity, is a lecturer and art professor at Iberoamericana University in the Mexican capital, a member of the National System for the Creative Artists in Mexico, a proud member of the International Academy of Ceramics (AIC / IAC). Her sculpture “City Stories Totem” was proudly selected to represent Mexico in the APEC Sculpture Garden in 2017 in Da Nang city, Viet Nam.

At the workshop, Paloma Torres introduced a series of representative sculpture-related images in Mexico from the ancient American period to the contemporary era, featuring works by well-known artists of 20^th and 21^st centuries, and her personal arts, shared experience, exchanged information with Vietnamese lectures and sculptors.

The workshop has received enthusiastic encouragement and high appreciation  from Vietnamese sculptors, lecturers and students of the University of Fine Arts.
