Minister Nguyen Ngoc Thien met with Ms. Cecilia Piccioni, Ambassador of Italy in Vietnam on the occasion of ending her tenure.

On the 18th October 2018, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Minister Nguyen Ngoc Thien met with Ms. Cecilia Piccioni, Ambassador of Italy in Vietnam on the occasion of ending her tenure.

At the meeting, the Ambassador expressed her sincere gratitude to the Minister and his team for supporting and assisting herself and the Embassy to successfully organize cooperative activities in the field of culture, sports and tourism during her whole tenure. Ms. Cecilia Piccioni highly appreciated that the Vietnamese government has extended visa exemption for Italian visitors. On this occasion, she invited the Minister to attend the opening ceremony of Italian Day in Viet Nam organized in The Imperial Citadel of Thang Long on 10th November 2018.

The Minister appreciated the exchanges and cooperative activities in the fields of culture, sports and tourism which the Italian side has deployed in Vietnam. Apart from cultural and tourism cooperation, the Minister is particularly interested in sport cooperation, starting with the establishment of Juventus Football Academy in Ho Chi Minh City.
